TugFest is a 3 day Festival including a Carnival with live music, food vendors, and beer tent situated along our beutiful levy, a Grand Parade through town, 5k race, bags tournament, one of the largest fireworks shows in the region, and finally a tug-of-war competition across the longest river in the United States of America.
2024 theme: “Stars & Stripes salute to America”
Ten 20-member tug teams pull a 2,700 ft, 680 lb rope spanning the mighty Mississippi River between LeClaire, Iowa and Port Byron, Illinois
August 8-10, 2024
Thursday – Wristband night at the Carnival
Friday – Grand Parade (map) followed by Fireworks
Saturday – “The Tug” LeClaire vs Port Byron
The carnival spans over 3 city blocks, with breathtaking views right along the banks of our historic Mississippi River downtown

Our fireworks are shot off of a barge in the middle of the river resulting in one of the biggest and best shows in the Quad Cities area
“Tug for a Cause”
TugFest is a non-profit event celebrating our riverfront community. All proceeds go towards the next event and left overs are donated to other local community organizations including one main beneficiary each year.
